My paintings explore Carl Jung’s ideas about the collective unconscious. (Ideas like rites of passage, archetypes/identity, universality/individuality, and the many journeys and cycles of life.)

My message is the joy of being alive and the knowledge that even in the “darkest” night of the soul”- the place we fear the most, we are not alone because of that common experience.

My current series is called Modern Manifestations of Mythology. I work closely with my models to create narrative portraits with rich personal symbolism exploring the psyche, connecting to people’s stories, and connecting the people to each other (past present and future) through that shared experience of humanity.
